This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Re-Post in honor of Father's Day

If Sheri listens quietly
There just may be a chance
She will hear the sound of yesterday
In the pictures from the past

You know that precious picture
of the girls on Halloween
taken at the hardware store
" Candy Daddy please.."

The one where Bob is smiling
His Princesses, his delight
Sheri can hear his deep voice
saying "Ask your Mom if it's alright

The sounds those pictures hold
If she listens carefully
Are the sounds of Bob, she'll hold on to
When Bob's shadow is to dark to see...
