This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and "Al"

Sheri tried hard yesterday to keep Bob busy. They worked hard all day and Sheri felt quite accomplished. She let Bob help as much as physically possible. They emptied and cleaned the fountain in Sheri's not quite her garden, garden. They pulled all the weeds in the yard, emptied and scrubbed the refrigerator and freezer, cleaned the kitchen, went grocery shopping, went to a park, and then went to the Arboretum and took pictures, Sheri was exhausted. They had been home relaxing for about 30 minutes, it was 4:30 in the afternoon and "Al" turned to Sheri and said "So.... what would you like to do today?"  Maybe Sheri is not going to try so hard anymore.    :)
