This blog is about life with my husband who was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimer's and Frontal Lobe Dementia in 2008. He was 64 at the time although now, knowing more about the disease, Alzheimer's was present many, many years ago, which is why early detection is so important. As you read the blog the character "Al" that I created in 2008, represents the way that Alzheimer's is invading our daily lives.
There is an archive tab further down the page that starts from the beginning of our journey.

Living with Bob and Al

Bob and Al are sharing life
Al's unaware that all's not right

Al tries each day to do the tasks
Most familiar to Bob from his life past

But Al has trouble with many things
like which hand to wear the wedding ring

But if you look right into Al's eyes
you will see Bob's shadow not far behind.

  1. Sheri- I ended up on your blog via your sisters post over at our digital website. Your website is both inspiring and all to real. My grandfather is still going through it all and I can share your pain in so many ways, as I am the person who cares for my grandfather. Al is the most scatter brained person I've ever met, especally for those people who were themselves before Al decided to move into the home. You and your family are in my prayers and positive thoughts. -Laura
